How to find us
Varshets is located only 30 km away from Montana and Vratsha, less than 100km from Sofia and in less than 2 hours of leisurely driving, along a panoramic and extremely picturesque road, you can experience the incredible natural treasures that the region offers.
From Sofia to Varshets you can travel via:
- Petrohan Pass (90 km). Very scenic road, in good condition, but has a lot of bends. Arrival time about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The road is cleared during snowfall and is well maintained.
- Hemus Highway to Botevgrad, Vratsa, Varshets (140km). Arrival time about 1 hour and 40 minutes
- Iskar Gorge, via Svoge (85 km). A picturesque road passing by the Vazova Eco-Trail, with more bends, but also breathtaking views. It is recommended to use it only in good weather and during the daylight hours.

Short walk around Varshets

Vratsa Balkan
The Vratsa Balkan is one of the most beautiful and wild corners of Bulgaria, offering breathtaking views, picturesque eco-trails and crystal clear air. Here is located Botev Peak – the highest peak in the Stara Planina Mountains, named after the great Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev. The area is ideal for mountain tourism, climbing and photography, and the rich biodiversity and breathtaking rock formations make it a favorite place for nature lovers.

Belogradchik
Belogradchik Rocks are beautiful rock formations near the town of the same name, approximately 100 km from Varshets. One of the unique natural phenomena that has no analogues in the world. This rock fairy tale stretches from west to east from Vedernik peak around the town of Belogradchik, the village of Borovitsa to the village of Belotintsi. The area is about 30 km long and 3-6 km wide. Belogradchik Rocks are impressive not only with their age of over 230 million years, but also with dozens of legends about the bizarre natural forms, such as the Madonna, the Monks, the Horseman, the Schoolgirl, the Dervish, the Bear, Adam and Eve, the Outlaw Velko, the Castle, the Cuckoo, the Mushrooms, the Lion, the Camel, the Thracian Goddess Bendida, Orpheus and the Petrified Wedding, and many others.
